Esperance was a great time and a good caravan park. Ian went fishing and managed to produce a feed of flathead, leather jacket and herring. We went to Stokes inlet for a day trip 80km west of Esperance. It is a fascinating place where we were able to use our 4wd to navigate around the lakeshores and reach the sea. The seashore and ocean were lovely and renowned we are told for salmon fishing, the lake is teaming with black bream, which we saw being caught. On the way into the park we saw a black tiger snake about 1 metre long and very fast to get out of our way. On Sunday we went to Le Grande National park 55km east of Esperance, which was super. At the park we climbed Frenchmans Peak (wow did we find out how fit we werent!). We went to Lucky bay which was a new experience to find a large monitor lizard and Kangaroos on the beach (thats a first). We went snorkeling for about 30 minutes and saw some fish and lots of sea weed. We drove to the other bays in the park and we very impressed by the very secluded beaches and fabulous blue water. On the way back from the park we stopped off at Bandy creek boat harbour that is very pretty. Monday 21st we left Esperance and traveled east to Hope Town. We were delighted and grateful that the cruise control decided to work again PTL. We arrived to find a delightful caravan park with lovely hosts Pete and Lyn. That evening there was a free concert given by Jimmy Nunn and Emma Leigh, country singers who are staying in the park; it was attended by about 50 people and made a great night of fun around the old campfire. Say tuned for more updates.
