Note the fire like colour of the rocks but despite this the name of the Bay of Fires was given by the early explorers who saw the fires of the Aborigine's when they sailed down the coast line. Posted by Picasa
The beach along side our campsite at Cosy Corner North on the Bay of Fires. We stayed here till today 16th March a very lovely spot of Tasmania
Viewed looking the other way and my fishing point, alas the fish didn't co-operate?
Our campsite at Lagoon Beach another lovely and tranquil spot. Posted by Picasa
Wine Glass bay from the look out, again not such good weather.
Spike Bridge, built by the convicts at Rock Hill in the 1800's an amazing piece of work but such hard labour. Some of the fire damage near St Helens and while it was so bad it could have been much worse.

Well it took two attempts to get a view without the cloud but it was worth it. Christine looks for a bargain at Salamanca Markets and yes she was successful.
We could see where our motorhome was in the caravan park from the top of Mt Wellington.

Sleepy bay from the look out at Coles bay. It was nice but alas the weather was less than good. Posted by Picasa

A Panorama of Hobart from the top of Mount Wellington. It would make a great wall hanging all though I say it myself. Posted by Picasa
Either I have lost weight or this was one heck of a tree in its day.
Richmond Bridge the oldest bridge in Australia.
Cathey Luxford is about to be beaten into second place in the womens national u23 tri-athalon. It was 28 degrees and they had to swim 750 metres then cycle 20 kilometres and finally run 5 kilometres some up hill each lap. They have both just lapped the Korean girl in red. Bothe girls have been World champions and may well be seen in Beijing 2008.
HM Endeavour in Hobart before heading for Port Arthur for the filming of a documentary on Captain Cooke the Man for ABC television. Posted by Picasa
The baroness of mining town Queenstown as seen from the high road out.
Christine at Neson Falls. Hard to believe Tasmania has a drought too! We meet up with our friends from Adelaide, Ross and Brenda Allerton at Lake St Claire. Together we visited "The Wall in the Wilderness" just the most amazing wood sculpting ever, alas no photographs allowed so you will just have to trust us or ask Ross or Brenda!
Tasmania can bring out the 'devil' i all of us at times but this fella was a natural (if you know what I mean?
